This will be my first post here. After reading numerous posts for several days I decided to try a few things that I have read about. I removed the plug from the bottom of the carb and re-adjusted the mixture screw. This really helped out with the riding that I mainly do here in Colorado. I also decided to change the fork oil and the seals and wipers. They were leaking extensively and this helped out alot. It feels alot better also! I made the tool with the zip-tie and the notch and it worked great. I wanted to say thanks to all of the members for the unlimited info to be found on this site and the links contained within it. If anyone lives in western colorado and is up for a ride...let me know. I have been riding around in the 10-11,000. ft altitude range and really enjoy my firts "Dual-sport" bike. (1990 klr650)

OK, I AM NEW TO THIS GROUP AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS MADE A SIMILAR MOVE. I AM THINKING OF ABANDONING THE BMW GS FOR A NEW KLR 650. THE BMW IS A GREAT BIKE BUT MAINT AND SERVICE ARE A HEADACHE AND FEW DEALERS AROUND TO WORK ON THEM. I THINK I AM READY FOR SOME JAPANESE RELIABILITY. I LIKE TO TAKE LONG TRIPS AND I KNOW A LOT OF GUYS OUT THERE ARE DOING THEM WITH GREAT SUCCESS ON KLRS. JUST THOUGHT I MIGHT GET SOME OPINIONS HERE. THANKS
