tool case access

I mounted a GIVI top case plate to hold the E46 case I had from another bike. I didn't want that big box to stick out to the rear too far, so I mounted the plate a bit inboard so that it eliminates access to the tool box. Any suggestions as to where else I could store the tool bag? I try to keep heavy items out of the top case, so I'd prefer not to keep the tools there. Thanks, Ron

Some folks have strapped a PVC tube to the front skidplate. This requires an aftermarket skidplate that goes all the way across the front, since there's no really good place to mount it with the stock skidplate (I suppose somebody's now going to tell me about a mounting system they came up with that works with the stock skidplate :-). An alternate mounting is to the crossbar for the Happy Trails case protector/highway pegs, for an example see: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/6164/page94.html Alternately, I found a fanny pack for $12 at Wal-Mart that mounts perfectly onto the front of the bike and provides dual cup holders too (what a deal!). I wonder what the law is in AZ? matteeanne@... wrote: Here in WA, we cannot even lane split, I guess in Mass the lawmakers are not entirely without a clue.. Massachusetts Bill to Allow Riding on the Shoulder MASSACHUSETTS BILL WOULD ALLOW MOTORCYCLISTS TO RIDE ON SHOULDER House No. 2017, a bill which would allow motorcyclist the use of the breakdown and access lanes on highways during backed up traffic, has been introduced in Massachusetts to allow traffic relief for motorcyclists and to avoid overheating in heavy traffic. The Motorcyclists Seasonal Traffic Congestion Relief Act", sponsored by the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association (MMA), would allow motorcyclists on Massachusetts roads with two or more travel lanes in the same direction, when traffic is traveling at 10 mph or less, to use the breakdown and access lanes, at speeds NO GREATER THAN 20 mph, yielding to emergency and disabled vehicles, to help relieve traffic congestion and prevent motorcycles from over-heating and becoming disabled themselves. ____________________________________________________ Yahoo!
