Looking for suggestions for a small, lightweight cover to help prevent theft from the bike bags when I have to be away from it. TIA Chuck

Shelton, I got a cover at Walmart for about $20. Fits pretty well. Found it in the automotive section with car covers. I also have one on my 2000 Harley MT-500 dual sport. Fits that with the pannier and gun boot real well. Think the size was extra large. running a klr engine out of the bike

So... I just purchased a very wrecked A14 from a local impound lot. It was in a pretty nasty head-on collision, but the engine itself seems to have escaped unscathed. Some of the wiring up by the instruments was severed by the crushing of the metal fairing supports etc, and the radiator is pretty bent and I imagine busted (haven't filled it yet). The bike has been sitting outside for about 3 years I think. The frame is shot. Anyway, I want to give the carb a light rebuild and see if the engine runs, either as a future spare for myself or for ebay (or here). Does anyone have any links or info on how it's possible to briefly run the engine sans wiring harness and preferably sans radiator? I just want to discover if it runs; I'm not trying to really run it with no cooling. I know I can jump the starter solenoid and make the engine turn, but what needs to get hotted for the ignition to be "on"? Is it possible to route the coolant hoses somehow so it just pumps to itself, or is it ok for it to run with no coolant at all briefly--will running with no fluid damage the pump? The bike only has 4500 miles when it was wrecked and it's had oil in it, so I'm thinking there's a good chance it'll run fine once/if the radiator was replaced. I spent the day stripping the thing and separating useful from useless, so I haven't really gotten to addressing this yet... figured it was worth asking in case someone has taken the time to publish those details. As an aside, it's a really weird feeling to be working on a bike and discovering the little mod's the owner did while not knowing how/if they survived the crash that ultimately landed the bike in your hands. Kind of gives you pause. Thanks all. -Luke A17 NYC Yahoo! Mail Stay connected, organized, and protected. Take the tour: http://tour.mail.yahoo.com/mailtour.html
