Hey Gang,
I'm new here, but not to the KLR. I owned an A1 from April of '87 to
early `90 and had 22,000 wonderful, trouble free, stock miles before
it was lifted. I had know idea (or concern)what a "doohickey" was
and "Tweety" was still keeping Sylvester honest.
Now I've got an '04 and am loving it all over again. I can't believe
all of the aftermarket stuff available now! Needless to say I've
added a few already.
They Include:
-Scottoiler
-SuperTrapp IDS (Sylvester caught "Tweety" after 2,800 miles)
-K&N Airfilter (Rejetted carb to a 145 main,
no pilot jet adjustment yet)
-Happy Trail PD Nerf Bars with Highway Peg (Oh the vibration!!!!)
-Sigma Bicycle Computer (had know idea 70mph indicated was only 63mph
actual know wonder I use to get 55mpg)
-RAM GPS Mount (Got to know where I am)
-SRC Fork Brace from Dual-Star (Do I really need to cut the fender?
I want to know.)
-Dual-Star Muffler Guard (Use to use a piece of ply held on with
baling wire no lie)
-My original Chase Harper soft saddle bags
-Kawi Tail Trunk (can carry a full case of be refreshments)
-MSR Fender bag (to carry tire changing/fixing stuff)
-GP110's (worked great back in the day and work fine now also.
They are actually cheaper now.)
-Aria XD (Love it!!)
All-in-All I think I've got as much into accessories this time around
then what I paid for the original bike in 1987!
If you're ever in Northeast Oregon (dry most of the time) let me
know. We've got great trails and lots of wonderful twisties.
