The bolt head at the top of the shock adjusts the spring pre-load. At the bottome of the shock on the other side is a little plastic cover. Underneath that cover is a thumb wheel that adjusts the rebound damping. As a wild guess the top bolt to 3/4 and the bottom to 2/3. Careful with the bottom as it only turns one way, to the right as you look at it.

I weigh 200 lbs and will have about 20 lbs or so of tools and clothes. I
assume that the factory setting is set at 3? I've never changed it or even
looked to see where it is set at. Are there two bolts? One set between 1 and
5 and the other is??? Sorry to be new to this. I'm really happy wherever it
is set at now. I'm going out to the garage now to see what it is set to. My
brother-in-law just gave me some strap on soft bags for the trip to Ohio. I
can't wait to get going.

the amount the suspension compresses from fully extended with no weight on
the rear wheel to where it is when you are sitting on the bike. I weigh
about 170-180 lbs and mine is set on "2" with the damping set on "1".
