I'm currently in the middle of tranny re-build. It seems the roller bearing opposite the primary on the output shaft let go and was followed shortly after by the disintegration of the ball bearing on the left side of the shaft. Anyone been through this type of failure that can possibly share any points or offer suggestions? Other than improper chain tension, anyone have any suggestions what may have caused the damage? Engine was never run low on oil. Judging from the scoring on the output shaft it's pretty obvious that the roller bearing failed first. I'm planning to replace all tranny components. A14 - 24K miles Gordon
