Your best bet is to remove the oil cap (assuming it is in good condition) then roll a chopper underneath it and screw it down. Should run fine. --- det_65 wrote:

I saw that one and it had a minnor flaw, the carb opening was right in front of your nutz or whomever was sitting on the bike.

It's been done- The one I saw used a custom hardtail frame, different fuel tank, stock KLR front end raked out. Looked pretty cool. Very few stock parts. If you don't know how to weld, or can't afford to have someone else do it, you're out of luck on raking the front end. GS500 forks supposedly drop right into the KLR triples, but that's more like a cafe racer setup. Lowering the rear is pretty easy. You could make it a hardtail by replacing the shock with a strut. You could also send out the shock to a suspension tuner, who can shorten it. Or you can get a set of 3" lowering links. You've set a challenge for yourself. I think if you only go halfway, you'll have a pretty cool but odd-looking bike. Really making a KLR look like a chopper is going to take some work. Devon

A friend, who usually rides his street-licensed XR650R, but who also owns a H-D and a Honda ST100, bought a Whizzer early last year. Liked it so well, he bought his gf one also. It is a toy, but a fun toy. Glenn San Jose, Ca.

I uploaded a pic of the eBay chopper to the photo section: "KLR Chopper." Glenn San Jose, Ca.
