I notice a tab on the frame that looks like it once had a bolt going through it but I can't tell what it's for. If you're on the right side of the bike, the tab is on the frame behind the brake light spring, and it protrudes down from the frame at roughly five o'clock, ending just above the tailpipe. I'd say there is maybe half an inch clearance between the tailpipe cover and the end of the tab. Anyone know what it's for? Randy

-------------------------------- I could be wrong because I am sitting in the office and not looking at my bike but it could be the exhaust clamp mount. I lost the bolt on mine and the ring around the pipe slid back toward the muffler. Slide your fingers down the (cold) exhaust pipe and see if your clamp is loose. John A18

That's funny John. That's exactly what it is. And I've got an A18 also. Thanks for the tip. Randy

Cool! I just had a look at my A17 and the same thing. Now to look for a bolt. :-) Craig Fernie, BC
