wtb 98/99 klr650 around seattle wa?

Why a 98/99, I'm just not that enthusiastic about the GI Joe army green ones and since not much has changed between 96-2002 I guess I'm going for color. Wasn't 98/99 the blue/green years? Please contact me if you have one for sale in the NW. Thanks, Barry--Seattle.

Barry, IIRC, the green color your looking for started with the 2000. Denis

torqueing jake's nut

Well, I was changing the sprockets the other day( the 12th time since getting Jakes nut), and after starting it fingertight(got to the diff threads), I put the wrench on to get it on. About half way in, it got a little hard to turn. Not wanting any trouble, I tried backing it off, got really hard to turn. Finally got it off, and there were the threads in it. DRAT!@! I am guessing it was operator error, since I hadn't had any trouble in the past. I wasn't able to save the threads(90% were in the nut), so I had to file down the damaged area, I still have enough threads to get the stock nut/washer on and have them seat. Now, I am SOL if I have any other mishaps. I guess I'll have to hope this holds out for a year or so, then I'll try to find a 1st and 2nd gear from a 600 and replace them since I'll be splitting her for surgery. Fireman Ed A17
