nippondenso temperature sensor/fan switch

Does anybody know of a substitute for the fan switch on the KLRs? I
got quoted $82 by Fremont Kawasaki! Unbelievable. I can't imagine
this is more than a $25 part.
I think it is a 10mm diameter screw with 1.25 pitch. Given how sloppy
the specifications are, just about anything out there should work.
The part itself is manufactured by Nippondenso. Is there anyway I can
get access to a parts catalogue for them to find something close?
TIA

My fan switch went bad last year and I searched
several auto parts stores for a compatable switch. All
I found was a mid 80's Volvo switch for $45 which
would fit but the connecter had to be changed to match
the KLR wiring. You might find one cheaper at a junk
yard but I decided to get a new KLR specific
(nipondenso) from Ron Ayers. Price was about $45.
By the way, If you are near Fremont, CA, check
with Fremont Cycle salvage. They should have my
buddy's A6 which was totaled due to a deer incident.
The fan switch on that bike is the new one I got last
year. I'll bet if you sweet talk Eddie, you might be
able to trade your bad switch and a few bucks for the
good one.

And there, in a nutshell, is why I never buy parts from salvage yards.
The guy who buys the bent radiator expecting at least a cap and fan
switch is going to be pissed.
