Ok, so I was overly sensitive, so paint me with Foreign tariffs.

Pause guys - my reply was so not applicable to its use.
My message was so clipped and snipped.
To the guys that are trimming my messages; get a grip and let THE
discussions run clear AND COMPLETE.

1- If they are getting stock HP and stock torque but at a much lower
RPM peak then the diesel KLR would work great for what I use it for-
100mi stretches of highway and rocky Northeast woods riding. Torque is
everything. Being able to ride out, ride woods, ride home, never even
coming close to running out of fuel?
2- Making my own motor fuel. Step 1, fry food. Step 2, make biodiesel.
Step 3, ride motorcycle
I guess I could run Gasohol, but what jetting changes would I have to
make to run 50% ethanol? And won't that reduce the tank range?

Yes, but that has a lot more to do with suspension and bash plating than
motor mods. You can try as hard as you want but you won't make a serious
dent in the power to weight ratio without going over 650cc.

AFAIK he never pumped much cash into it. He runs a machine shop/ engine
tuning shop. He already had ALL the extra parts, machine tools, and know
how. He probably got bored and wondered what he could do with a KLR650.
So he did a few things, had fun, then went back to his regular job that
makes more money than selling KLR hop-up kits. Powroll discontinued
their kit due to lack of interest as I heard it. You probably won't hear
from him at all.
I still don't get the "we need two million dollars"..... I understand
that you can't use military money to run the civilian production line.
But why couldn't you build 20 civilian bikes, use them to pass the DOT
and EPA testing, then build the rest in pre-ordered lots? You could sell
crate diesel motors, again on a pre-order basis. Wait until you have 100
or 500 orders then do a run of crankcases. People out riding the bikes
will be the best advertising.
Besides, I still don't believe they can't sell crate motors.
Considering that they don't make the other 80% of the bike, how much
money would they make on complete bike sales anyway?
