Hi KLRistas... I too am interested in changing the dreaded Doohicky... I've had a replacement (in my parts box for over a year) so perhaps it's time. I live on the NJ/PA border about two hours from NYC... I have all the tools, compressor, Handy lift table but; no pool, so perhaps Richy's place on a weekend is better? I can bring an extra set of KLR specific tools so we can work on more than one bike at a time. Right now I'm free any time after July 18th. To move this forward, let's select a coordinator to "take names and best times" and move forward from there... Since Devon is providing the expertise... He's "key" as to availability. Maybe Tammy can join us? Feel free to call me at the numbers below if you want to discuss this. Best regards, Ingo Lahnemann Office Phone:1+609 397-0525 Mobile Phone:1+609 937-8246

It would be great if Tammy could come, because she's done more of these than I have. Then I could work on my favorite project, which is drinking beer while watching other people work on bikes. Seriously, just a question of when work and family allow. I can turn up anyplace within 2hrs of NYC or so, with whatever I can carry on the bike. Devon After July 18 is definitely better.....

Depending on where/when it winds up, I'll be in too. I've still not gotten to doing mine yet. I'd host it here but I have no shop nor shelter yet to work in.

Loren, I'm not sure if having fuel in the carb bowl negates this theory, but seeing as how you have a California model, it could have been a vapor lock. The short term fix is opening the gas tank cap. The long term fix is a process commonly refered to as "decalifornication". Matt
