float stuck in carb??
Mike - I am SO just getting over this EXACT problem. Tried all the 1/2 way
fixes and nothing. Pulled the carb apart and cleaned everything really well
(including the float needle valve) and nothing. Took it to a good friend
who is a mechanic and he looked at the float needle valve and said it needed
replaced. He could somehow see a slight shiny ring (under a magnifying
glass) on the part. I laughed at even the thought of it being enough to do
anything. I replaced the float needle valve anyway (at his demand) and
everything is working great! Won't make that mistake again!!!!
Mine is a 96 and part number 16030-1057 (still sitting on my desk notes!).
$29 at dealer and $23 at ronayers.com (give or take). I was also told that
I should have replaced the rubber o'ring around where the float bowl seals
to the carb but didnt and its not leaking at all.
Good Luck - I know the frustration.
