If it's the stock grips, I always destroy them. They are glued on
there pretty well.

I've never gone that route. I put on aluminum bars cause the
stockers bend if you sneeze near them. I don't have any
vibration/hand problems at all on the bike and I have severe carpal
tunnel in my left hand and moderate in my right.

I don't know about that. For my cross country trip I took along
a "Throttle Rocker" and it works well. But I only used it one day.
I don't mind holding on to the throttle.
