I,too, am guilty of multiple motorcycle madness ! But I don't do it
on purpose, I just never sell them ! I still have my Can Am, bought
in 1975, my Honda bought in 1983 and the '04 KLR which is now with
me 'til the end ! I haven't had the two older bikes on the road for
a couple of years and was drifting more towards multiple bicycle
ownership until my wife persuaded me that I needed the KLR. All of a
sudden, the Bicycling magazine pile was removed from the bathroom
and sequential loads of old Motorcyclist, Cycle World and Cycle
Canada have been rotating up from the mustiness of the crawlspace !
My interest has been revived, but I must admit that while I like and
appreciate the KLR, I like pretty well like all bikes. Riding the
Honda after a toot on the KLR is really interesting and I think that
if you have the space and the bucks to have more than one bike, go
for it ! The biggest problem I face here in British Columbia is that
you have to insure each bike separately.
Now if I just had an ST 1100 and a BMW and a Concours, a Wing and
at least one really old bike that works perfectly ........

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a 'One Way' sign on my driveway! I did sell
the trusty old Seca last year, but only because it was getting to be a hassle
to cut the ride of the day out of the herd.

PS: Ya, my wife was a positive influence on my purchase as well

After
all, it is not a 200rhp street bike :-0

portland klr (ds) riders?

I'm looking for people around Portland, Or. that do
weekend rides. I just bought a '01 KLR about six months ago and am
bored to tears with following my 4x4 buddies on heavily rutted quad
tracks. I haven't managed to ride kings mtn. or jones creek yet. I
bought my KLR for a six week trip through Mexico in April '05 but I'm
having a good time up here. There's A LOT of terrain in Oregon and
Washington.
BTW- Devon, I just got back from the Lower East Side/ Brooklyn and
noticed there are a lot of KLR's out there, I wonder if I saw you. I
talked to three different guys with KLR's in Williamsburg all on the
same night. One guy had an ingenously customized klr.
I already copied his pvc tool tube, just need to mount it.
