.........My, uh, technique is to keep the mounts loose enough so that a thwack turns the whole thing down rather than breaks it, but firm enough to stay in place when I go 130 mph into softball sized meteo....uh, hailballs.....yeah, that's it.......softball sized hailballs.........at 160 mph. Da Mule> If you ride tight enough conditions, you should just spin off the > mirrors, or at the least get the seperate left-hand side mirror mount > so if it snags it doesn't rip your signal pod off too.
