noab prep

Making some final preparations for thrashing the hell out of the KLR at
NOAB. After having bent the brake lever in the last drop, it's clear
that I definitely need some hand guards. I'm thinking Maier Woods Pro
Deluxe. Any thoughts pro or con? Also, who has a good price?
I'd also like to replace the grips since the ride out to NOAB will be
rather long. Suggestions for vibration-absorbing grips?
As far as footpegs, I'm guessing IMS pro series. (Should I change these
at NOAB and use the stock pegs for the highway? Or is the vibration
about the same with either?)
Also, while inspecting the bike after the last drop, it appears that
the rear break pedal is vulnerable. Anything that can/should be done
about that (other than not dropping the pig on its right side)?
Finally, it seems inevitable that the mirrors are going to snap
something important off the handlebars. I'll take the mirrors off once
at NOAB, but is there a better, permanent solution to the mirror
problem?
TIA
