thinking of trading my klr in for a motto guzzi....

I am located in Vancouver, B.C.. I bought an A17 in December of
2002. I have ridden it daily as my transport to and from work right
through the winters, however I am embarrased to admit that I have not
been off-road even once. I have come to the conclusion that I won't.
Now I have begun to lust after a street only bike, a Motto Guzzi.
The Motto Guzzi dealer sells only Triumphs, Duccatis and Guzzis. He
won't have a walk in clientel to sell my bike to and so will only
offer wholesale as a trade-in.
So here goes..: The bike has under 8,000 kms. It has never been
dropped or bumped. The only blemishes are a wear on the handlebar
cross bar where my keys rub and a slightly damaged ignition key slot
where someone attempted to jimmy it. I spent 1,000 bucks on a set of
Givi luggage that comes with two bags and three possible mounting
positions. (IE: you can ride with side bags, no bags, use one of the
bags as a trunk, or buy a third and ride with all three.) It has
been serviced at Burnaby Kawasaki.
Any ideas what I could get for it in private sale? Or is there
anyone here in Vancouver who would like to make an offer?
Thank you,
Andy.
