shift lever - just weld it
I broke mine off at the shaft too last December while
riding through a small town in Costa Rica. A local lad
riding past on a bicycle took it to his buddies shop
and welded it back together. Unfortunately he welded
it back at the wrong angle so I had only one gear, but
one gear when it's really needed is worth 10 at any
other time. It was a simple task to bend it back to
the right position the next day. That shifter is still
on the bike today in Holland. The thing broke only
from day to day riding. It's a good idea to reinforce
it if you're planning on any kind of adventure/trail
riding. Without the shifter and the bike in gear, you
can't even start the engine if you're not in neutral
already, ie: stranded!
