klr sargent seat

I rode the KLR with Sargent seat Sunday about 450 miles paved road and unpaved road. I requested Sargent retain the stock seat shape, upgrade the driver foam and recovever with griptex, which they did well. Initially I thought the seat was too hard, putting pressure on my butt bones. Toward the end of the ride the seat seems to be softening up a bit.
I am glad I kept the stock seat shape so I can move fore and aft for manueverability and for comfort. The trick seems to be to get a seat wide enough to spread a persons load evenly and avoid pressure points yet narrow enough to get feet down for rought terrain if need be. I may resort to car seat wooden beads to soften the foam. The jury is still out.
