I want to use my KLR to transport my mountain bike. Does an off the shelf rack kits for bicycles exist? Or if any one has made a rack, can you provide some guidance?

Saw a chap ridding a older mid-sized bike near Mt St. Helens once. He was loaded down with camping gear and a $1000 mtn bike strapped to his back... he was touring this way! West

That looks like an accident waiting to happen, at least for an inexperienced rider. Just curious what the law is regarding the mounting of bikes and such on motorcycles, or if a L.E.O. would pull you over for having something like that strapped to your bike. I'm sure this guy has tested it and researched it since he is selling them. Definitely no lane splitting with that thing on your bike! :-) Rob D. A15 A1 '00 Indian Chief "Guy B. I don't see any issue with it. Hell, it's narrower than the bars from what it seems, certainly narrower than a pair of Pelican boxes on racks. It's more dangerous to carry a bed roll with compression straps on the rack as it could be sucked into the drivetrain and lock your wheel. I still want to setup a trailer hitch to tow my 18' kayak on the bike. Now that would definitely light up the day for a few LEO's.

Completely agree. This has to be one of the best buys in the motorcycle world. Mine is handy beyond belief. My wife likes to ride on the back of the KLR rather than the Goldwing because of the the travel trunk. (none on the Wing) Regards, Sam
