newbies rough weekend

Fred, Don't you know, they don't break! :-) The lever (hickey) for the 650 will fit your bike. The early 650's have the same part as yours. when you put it together, just forget the circlip. All the best, Mike Eagle Mfg & Eng San Diego, Ca.

I'm willing to guess that your doohickey failure was a symptom rather than a cause. Sounds to me like an issue with the cam chain or tensioner caused the motor to jump time and mate the valves with the piston. (Funny, the last KLR600 I looked at had a similar problem). Or perhaps your doohickey was already broken, without your knowledge.
