Hi,
I recently broke the clutch cover on my bike, and found a replacement at :
http://www.angelfire.com/biz/stockers/ 1-619-239-2071
I think they had a 01 KLR being dismantled: check with them, I was happy
with the service.
Make sure you get a good price ready (eg from ronayers.com).They'll probably
ask you how much you were quoted and then divide it by two. This part
(11008-1295) can only be had as a whole and costs around $610 at ronayers.
You may actually be better off shopping for a complete engine, second hand
of course.
Also (question for the machinists out there), see if you could get your
original head remachined, perhaps using bronze guides for where the cams
rest).
Good luck
Pierre

it's not a telegram ---- you're not paying by the word --- you can
afford to use puctuation ----
Seriously, if the oil pump failed, make sure the oil strainer screen is
in place- The oil pump is practically a no-fail item unless a chunk of
something gets into it.
The head and the cam caps are machined together, you will have to get a
matched set. If new is too much money, try Ebay. Every once in a while
someone parts out a bike.
