Jud,
Was thinking that was the non-Mil version, perhaps thats were the
color thoughts came from.
Nonobtrusive would be a good description then, cause the semi-clear to
me look kinda cheap looking, yours just looked solid when looking at it.
I am fine with the OEM tank for now, only a few scratches, and no rust
yet, now if it get dents I can deal with that too, but rust will give
me reason to look at the IMS units down the road.
I had a KZ-400 years back that had a heck of a dent on the right side
towards the top, when the faded out color was too much for me I sanded
it down dent and all, primed it and hung it from a bungie cord on a
tree branch and painted it a deep maroon using automotive
spray/touch-up paint and it held on fine till I sold it a couple years
later after moving and having to ride 15 miles of highway to work, the
KZ-400 just did'nt have enough juice at 55 Mph to get away from the
cagers if needed, felt like a rolling speed bump.
Did you get a email from Jay yet ? Enduraid is going to be closer for
you this year:
June 18-20, 2004
Chippewa National Forest in north-central Wisconsin - Specific
location pending
http://www.geocities.com/enduraidrally/
I have full intentions on attending again, that was a blast, wife now
has a four wheeler so she wants to attend if possible also, just have
to borrow a trailer to get both units there I suspose if that happens.
Not that I need to drive 200 miles to a trail, but the group ride is a
blast.
