You didn't quote much so have no idea which tire you are asking about specifically. The MT21 rears would do about 3,000mi (with careful attention paid to airing up for road travel) before they were useless offroad. Then maybe another 1,000 until you hit the minumum tread depth, but I tossed them once they were too worn for dirt. The MT21 front is reversible, so you can flip it halfway through and get 5,000 or 6,000mi. The D606 fronts (I haven't used the rears) will go about 3500-4000mi before they aren't useful offroad. But they aren't reversible. But they perform a bit better offroad than the MT21s. BTW Gino's comments about the D606 being truly horrible in the wet come as a suprise to me. I have nearly 10,000mi logged on D606 front tires, in ALL weather. They're great dualsport tires, slightly biased more to dirt than the MT21 but both have good road grip. Tumu was using a D606 rear, same riding mix, same results. Maybe it's been too long since I rode anything with actual street tires. Devon garalpar@... wrote:

Lets see: DR650 - Shorter than my KLR - More dirt oriented - i'm guessing it's lighter - skinny seat - no fairing KLR650 - more comfortable - rear rack for luggage - bigger tank - more accessories - more online resources I'm very happy with KLR as I don't do a lot of off-road, and if we do any distance on pavement he gets worn out pretty quick Then again, the few times we've been off-road he's in the lead. jim
