Borg,
I have a pair of summer-weight deerskin gloves from Rider Wearhouse that
I'm very fond of, but on my cold, morning commute I felt a need for
something warmer.
I'm thinking strongly about a pair of insulated guantlet deerskin gloves
from the the same place. Anybody have experience with them? I'm pretty
sure I want the guantlet to stop the wind up the sleeve, and I know my
correct size on this brand of glove.
Thanks in advance.

I have those very gloves. They are excellent, but look a bit out of
place on sport bikes... but who cares? The fashion police haven't
stopped me yet. They are good down to about 40 degrees, then your
fingers start to freeze. I had mine on when I crashed in 97. They
held up well and I still wear them today... this mornig as a matter of
fact.

I am looking for feedback from the group on different types of cold and wet
weather gloves that are in use. I use a gel Olympia perforated glove for
most riding, but am looking for something a little warmer and/or drier to
use during the winter. In addition, most of my riding is commuting to work.
Thanks

Hi David
I use an Olympia "Gore Tex" snowmobile glove when the temp drops under 40F.
I've used them down to 16F and they work quite well.

I use Fox Dirt Paws ($20)for general use, Fox Cool Paws ($32) for cold and
Land's End Squall gloves ($25) for weather I really shouldn't be riding in.

For anybody that rides in rainy weather, what type of gloves have performed
well for you? I currently use some nylon over mittens, but I don't like
losing the feel for the controls. I would like to get a good pair of
gloves that still offer some amount of protection.
During the summer, I don't mind getting my hands wet, but when it cools
off, it ain't so comforting having wet hands.

I wear "Chemical Handling" gloves over my standard gloves. They`re
kinda` like dishwashing gloves but, a little different material (not so
rubbery and a little thinner). Work well for me, they`re available at
industrial supply places.

Some years ago I used Spidi "Alumino" gloves.
They were no more bulky than usual winter gloves but did take quite
some use to bed in.
Frank Thomas gloves from England would be worth a look, I've always
liked their fit, and you would think that English glove makers would
have a pretty good handle on wet weather wear.

I have had very good success with Aerostitch's Gore-Tex over-gauntlets. I routinely ride in Colorado's thunderstorms.

Me too

I think they're called "nitril" or something like that. XXL and sort
of green. I just couldn't force myself to wear those bright yellow
dishwashing gloves

though, I must admit, my favorite form of rain protection is a cage.
I must be getting old.
