I searched the archive. No mention of this method that I found.
Anyone have feedback on this idea?
Replace the four 1156s in the turn signals with some of those 19 led
bulbs to lower the current draw. May have to ditch the little
reflector in the turn signals. Add two spdt relays that have one
contact normally closed and one more electronic flasher (assuming
the stock flasher is electronic, I haven't checked it yet). Anyway,
rewire the whole thing so there is a flasher for each side. Normally
the closed side of the relay would power the lights. When the turn
signal switch is moved to one side or the other, it would cause the
cooresponding relay to break that connection and make the connection
with the flasher in line. Thereby turning the 2 lights off then on,
rather than on then off. Make sense?
Purpose-improve dusk time visibility. Should be brighter/more
visible than the socket switch to 1157s. Me thinks.
Thanks for any feedback, positive or negative.

I would only change them to LEDs on all four corners for the purpose
of dropping the current draw. The back would be useful as running
lights for visibility, but up front your headlight is a lot more
effective. If someone doesn't notice a headlight...I'm not sure two
small amber bulbs would make any difference.

Probably right but it can't hurt and makes the circuitry simpler. I
can see the front turn signals flashing at night so I know the
lights will be visible. Looks like 30 LED clusters will fit in the
turn signal housing.
Phase two will be to mount two 35w halogen mini driving lights under
the aluminum hand guards. These I will be able to toggle on and off.
Phase three will be to replace the little reflector on the JCW top
case with some sort of pulsating brake light. Shouldn't be too hard
to find the right connectors to allow quick release.
Just trying to make my commute as safe as possible, eh?

Has anyone tried to see if the J.C. Whitney trunk will fit on a Givi
base. I already have a Givi plate on my bike but would like a smaller
trunk sometimes.
Thanks Dan
