After looking at that new '04 Red color for 6 hours, I still do not
know if I like it or not. I do like it a WHOLE lot better than the
ugly GI Joe green things that they have been selling for the last 3
years. Sorry guys. (with the green things)

Always a matter of taste - I waited for an A18 because I didn't want the "GI
Joe green" color. The british used to say there are only 3 "proper colours"
for a motorcycle - black, red and black.
On another note, my A18 goes in this week for its 500 mile service (by a
trusted mech) and he is suggesting a .010" shim under the needle and drilling the
1/8" hole in the slide leaving the stock main jet in. Any opinions on this as
a cure for leanness? TIA

I personally think the dark green and black color of the A17 is
great. The only better match for this bike would be all black.
After all, this is no ferrari to be red, no KX to be bright green, it
is a tank/SUV, and should be a nice army green and black to match. A
nice stealth black would be cool too.

Not the first hand evidence you're looking for but I distinctly remember a
post describing exactly that experience. Was it a year ago ? Maybe the
poster will surface.
