This day will never end. I can't wait until tomorrow. The dealer has my new red 04 "killer" prepped and ready for pickup. I so psyched!!! Does anyone have a suggestion on helmets? I have a HJC CL-14 street helmet now. It's ok but I was looking for something a little more "dual purpose". The only "dual purpose" helmet so far that I've found is a nolan N70 but I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere. I'm really looking for something that's kind of a cross between a street helmet and an off-road helmet. Has a faceshield and a sun visor both, like the N70. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

The only true DS helmet out there is the Arai XD (nee Tourcross), but at $400+ it's way too expensive for me to consider banging up offroad. My solution is far from ideal, but I have a cheap $80 Fulmer DOT/SNELL MX helmet that I bring with me when I expect to be doing a whole lot of offroad. This of course, really only works when you're camping and can dump your street gear at the campsite. One idea I had for making a street helmet bearable off road was to get some black vinyl cling film (dunno what it's really called) cut to fit the faceshield on my street helmet. When I get offroad, I'd apply the black film to the faceshield, flip it up, and voila, instant visor. Pull your googles out of your bag and you're good to go. I haven't tried this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work (other than the "visor" being too short perhaps). Else if, pick up a piece of cardboard off the side of the road and duct tape it to your helmet. Z

Arai Quantum or Astral on the street. Nolan N100 or Jarow Mono X2 in the dirt or on dual-sport tours. __Arden

Good morning. Congratulations on your new moto. I like my Jarrow helmet. It converts to an off-road or can be used a s a full-face. I especially like the fact that I don't have to remove my glasses when I take it off. Check out http://www.rvmc.com Gino has pictures of the helmet. george Escondido, CA motorbiker65 wrote:

Congrats on your new '04. I got my '03 in May and have been having a blast ever since. I REALLY want the Arai TOurcross as well, but it is quite spendy. Found this site www.bbbikeshop.co.uk/acatalog/Browse___ ... r_926.html The helmet listed is no doubt an Arai knockoff, but it might do the trick in a pinch. Happy Riding! Most of the full-face helmets I've had won't fit goggles inside them, or if they do the goggles are in the wrong position, making it hard to breathe through your nose.
