sirac dual sport?

Last week someone mentioned that they had made a toolbox out of 4" PVC tube, and that it mounted on the left side where the charcoal canister would be on a California model. Look at the BigCee site. Dr. Krok has a really spiffy mount for an Otter Box that fits where the charcoal cannister goes. unless you're looking specifically for the modification, it's practically invisible.

That was me. I don't have any pictures, but I'll try to take some and post them. But it's really simple. I had to get a 6' section of 4" black "schedule 40" PVC pipe at Lowes for about $6.00. I also got the screw on cap and adapter for one end and the end cap for the other and some pvc cement. I also got 4' of 1 1/2" wide steel strap stuff with holes in it. I cut a 11" section of pipe, wrapped a piece of steel strap around it about 2" in from both ends, glued the end cap on the front end and the screw-on cap and adapter at the other. I hand-fit the straps and bolted them together to fit the pipe closely. I cut the ends of the straps evenly and bolted them to the turn signal retention nut and helmet lock holder so the pipe hangs in the open space congruent with the exhaust on the right side. Total cost about $15, total time about 3 hours. If I did it again, I'd probably use 5" pipe so it could hold a bit more. But it holds my Quickstand, tool kit, spare plug, and owners manual with a little room to spare. Completely waterproof and very sturdy. I'll post a pic when I get a chance. Milt Rudy

mines attached to the highwaypegs with a couple of exhaust clamps paul

Hi Ryan, I've had Sirac's on for about 4K miles and IMHO they are a really good street tire. It looks like I've got another 2 - 3K miles left on the front and 1 - 2K miles on the rear. They're okay on hard packed fire roads and truck trails but lose it in loose sand and mud. They are advertised as an 80/20 tire and I'd agree with that. Buddy
