Hey again everyone.
IT seems the recent increase in my questions is coming to a head. I
jsut stopped by my local dealer who jsut took in a 1993 KLR 650 on
trade last week. I was planning to buy a new/lightly used on in the
spring but . . .
IT only has 15,800 km on it (about 1500 km/year!!) and looks pretty
clean. No major dings or scratches I saw with a 5 minute
inspection. No upgrades done really, new looking tires but no bash
plate or SS brake line. Tool kit is missing and it is the while
plastic with blue seat and a bit of pink graphics.
I may just buy it!! Oh, they are asking $3000 = tx ($3450) saftied.
Maybe give her a coat of KRYLON Fusion black?
Are there any things I should look for specoifically to the klr or
the 1993 KLR? I know a few changes were made in 1996 but this biek
is about 1/2 the price of new and even the wife sez buy it!! This is
my first street bike and my last biek was a DS 80 so any buying
info/things to look for etc are welcomed. I ahve read a lot of stuff
on the net but any specific info would be great.
By this time next week I may be a REAL KLR guy (instead of just
reading about all the fun you guys are having

)
Thanks
Josh

O.k., just .02 here, I think for a ten year old bike with that many
miles and in that color scheme...they are at least a grand too high in
price. You're only $1600 from a new one with a warranty.
I bought used, and got mine for about a grand less than that one at
the dealer and it's a newer model in one of the more tolerable color
schemes.
As far as differences, the last mechanical change was in '96, the FAQ
lists the breakdown or a link to it.

Is that $3000 canadian? I spent $1850 on my 1993 with 7000 miles in
similar condition.

Price seems a bit high too me.
2 weeks ago I picked up a 93 KLX650 the local dealer got on a
tradein for only $1925usd out the door, tax and licence.
And it only had 3900 miles on it....
Spent another 60 bucks on a new seat cover as I was having some
trouble dealing with the stock 'teal' color.....
Justed posted a pic of it in the photos section here.
Look for '93 KLX650 with black CEET' pic.

Too bad you didn't like the aqua seat cover. I think that black KLX
with the aqua frame and seat is a great-looking bike; You have to
pull the graphics off to see how cool it looks. You might be
changing the seat anyway, though, for reasons of comfort.

anyone have any pics showing how the bags mount? I'm thinking about
getting some for my KLR (already have the rack) and was curious if
they'd work on my Tiger (w/ Givi side rack).
you can email pics to klrtgr03 at bornman.net or post them here.
thanks in advance,

Hmmmmm.....
Now you got me wondering what it would look like with the
graphics ripped off. All black except for the aqua/teal frame.
what to do ?
