Hi guys, I'm an A1 owner with 30k and something realy strange is hapening with my bike. It all started about a year ago... KLR started hesitating ( little intervals) until the engine was reaching 2800 rpm and after that point it was runing ok.I let it becaulduse i had no time to deal with it and the bike was working as i described for a year. About a month ago i had the engine rebuilt in a local mechanic ( i live in Greece-Europe) and after he discovered that the crankshaft was turning eccentric he replaced it among other parts ( oil pump etc.) Since then the bike is runing fine only above 2800 rpm. It idles fine but when I open the throtle it misfires ( brrrrrr) continuously until it reaches 2800 rpm when ,with a jump , it starts working perfect to the high ends. At first I thought it was a carb problem but after putting another carb on, the problem remained at the very same rpm( 2800). Could it be electrical? ( CDI unit, generator timing ?).Please help me if anyone can figure out what's happening with my bike. Thanks in advance. George

I contacted Juan off-list with that suggestion and he tried it with no success, when I removed mine for the first time at around 30k rough miles it took me rotating the bolt from one end while Elden Carl used a large hammer and drift on the other end. That sucker was really corroded in there. Regards, Kurt Grife [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
