I am still in search of a KLR650 and was wondering if there is any specific year to avoid? Has there been any major design changes I should know about? Thanks, Curtis Spivey '97 ST1100 (#3289) '97 PC800 (Roja) Nampa, Idaho

None really. All the models are the same since 1987 (I think 1987) when the clutch was changed. See www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html for more details. Pat @... --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Curtis Spivey" wrote:

Curtis, Look for at least a '96 or later. They have the better clutch, and improved gearbox, along with fewer parts in the balancer system. (sometimes the pins and springs in the early system take a hike to la-la land) Mike Eagle Mfg & Eng San Diego, Ca. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Curtis Spivey" wrote:
