newbie - looking at klr650 as my first bike

I've found nothing but good things about this bike and I think it
will suit me great. My question is ....
I'm 6'4" tall and over 300 pounds. Will this be a problem for the
KLR650? Also, is it a good first bike?

Dutch,
No problems, I am 6'4", 250, and it does great. it is a very
forgiving bike, and is a great first bike. I tell everyone that is
thinking about getting a first bike to look into them.(although
the "need for speed" stuff seems to have taken hold here)

heyas -
size and weight won't be a problem...it's a tall bike so you'll
probably find it more comfy anyways. PLENTY of torque, and fairly
mild mannered too. Handling is forgiving enough for a beginner but
quick enough to make things exciting in the twisties for more
experienced riders.
makes a great first bike, second bike, last bike

I notice the carolina in your username, north or south? Have you sat
on one yet?

I pretty much retracted the email later and didn't mean anything negative
anyway.
Smoking? I wish. I am required to have a commercial drivers license and the
random drug testing that goes along with it.
