Quick question: I borrowed a torque wrench do finish my valve adjustment job and I noticed it is in inch-lbs but the Kawi manual has everything listed in ft-lbs. How do I convert? Also, in that great web page about how to adjust the valves there are two paths you can take when reassembling. One involves fiddling with the balancer and the other does not. I would like to avoid fiddling with the balancer - is it O.K. to do this? Has anyone else taken the easier route and not experienced any problems? John in T.O. A11

1 Foot pound = 12 inch pounds. Multiply or divide as ness. Example; 13 FP x 12 = 156 IP Tom K.

I recently purchased a set of lowering links from another member here. I pick up my KLR 650 next week and will lower it as soon as I get it as it is sort of a surprise for my 15 year old. What are the torque settings for the bolts holding the links and also for the fork tubes? How much should I raise the tubes?

Thanks! But the kit won't do anything for the peni/grommet joint. (Is that why you needed one?) Krokko -- Dr. J. Christopher Krok John Lucas Adaptive Wind Tunnel Caltech MS 205-45, Pasadena, CA 91125
