I saw a post once about removing the California emmissions
equipment from the KLR. I searched for it again with no luck.
Does anyone have the instructions for how to do that?
Thanks,

run/stop switch woes

Funny you mention that,Julie. I odored the new switch from Ron Ayers(internet) and got it in a week. My local dealer is Ron Ayers Motorsports. When ever I go down there to get stuff it always takes 2-3 weeks. They stock nothing. WTF? Anyway, I put on the new switch and now it isn't firing. I found a CDI unit from a guy on the list whos parting out a 2001 I think. I'll let you know how the transaction goes. So far he seems like a stand-up guy. If that doesn't fix it, the only thing left is the coil. There is some info in the archives on how to bypass it. I don't remember the wire colors off hand so I won't attempt to advise you on this. I took the old switch apart and looked at it really closely along with the instructions from the archives so if it happens out in the sticks I think I could do it without frying anything and get back home. I would recomend this highly. Knowledge is power and you never know when it might crap out in the future.
I've got a new set of tires and a new seat waiting. I can't wait to get her up and running again, and its been so pretty here lately. Its killing me to see all the bikes on the road. Wish me luck!!
I hope your dealer gets your bike back to you quickly.
