Hi
I am looking for Torque values for
the oil filter cover bolts ...
Now I have my Sturtevant Richmont
Torque wrench I am exploring my
anally retentive side.
I went with the 5m thread dia
values ... something like 4.8Nm
Sound Good ?

I haven't yet gone metric for torque. I think 8 or 10 ft/lbs is enough, you're better off using loctite and less torque if
you're worried. Or, drill the bolt heads and safety wire them.

Manual recommends 3.4 - 4.9 N-m, 30 - 43 in-lb for a 5mm thread dia.

No, it wasn't you. I guess the "loctite and less torque" was the best
bit of my advice. I have used 8 ft/lbs on the case bolts, but usually I
just do "tight enough".
