Hi,
I am looking to buy a replacement fuel tank for my 89 KLR. I have
seen one made by acerbis for a 93-onward KLX will this fit?? If not
does anyone else know a source of tanks??.
While i am here does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement for
the rear end?? i want to make it look a bit slimmer and a bit more MX
style...I know there is no accounting for taste!!!!!..
Cheers

KLX's are totally different beasts. Assume that most parts are NOT
interchangeable between the bikes. IMS makes both 5.5gal and 7.1gal
rotomolded plastic tanks for the KLR650 for about $200.
If you look around the files and photos sections I think there might
still be pics of a KLR with an Acerbis enduro style tail piece on it.
It's doable, but will require a lot of bodging as no one makes a direct
replacement.

I honestly cant think of a reason to have a GPS myself, if im lost...
im lost and there will not be any trails mapped out on the GPS to
follow, so it seems pointless, my watch has a small compass on it (if
I could just find that darn thing) during daylight sun up in the east
and down to the left, if I know what direction I was going, just
reverse course till I find a road or something.
Thats for me anyway, maybe if I fished alot I could use it then, but
since I sold my boat few years back, it would be pointless to me to
spend money on, just like this PocketPC.. at least dont have to carry
a deck of cards to play solitaire.
