West Texas, on the 60 mile stretch between Marathon and Ft. Stockton. At 10PM. With nearby storms. It isn't very far away from civilization, but it sure feels that way when there are no homes, farms, businesses, or passing motorists. Everyone should try it at least once... Except for the storm part.

For me, probably the 70 mi. stretch from Ten Sleep, WY to Lost Cabin. But the 40 mi. across Cuny Table from Interior to Buffalo Gap, SD feels a lot more remote, the longest 40 miles I ever rode. Felt pretty isolated at Black Horse, too. On the Grand River in N. central South Dakota.

Some of you guys are making me chuckle. There is one highway ( all gravel ) that connects the 3 towns near me.( the ONLY 3 towns) Minimum distance between gas stations : 155 miles! Come visit me sometime and I'll help you re-define " The Middle of Nowhere"!! :-) Steve in Labrador A11

Steve, That is somewhere, Labrador, it is! To me, when on a DualSport page, New Jersey is more the middle of nowhere. I once looked at Labrador from Newfoundland across the Strait of Belle Isle. It was in 1989, I was on an 84 R100RS on my honeymoon. We're still married too. Steve G
