The tacho is electrically operated. If the needle moves around more than you think the engine revs are changing, then I suspect that you have an electrical problem. Considering the dealer would have had the tank off to do the valve clearances, I would take the tank off an check the fit of the connectors under the tank. There are a few down there, but a close look at the connector to the CDI unit would be in order. Mister_T Melbourne Australia

Would like to buy a pair of used sidecovers to paint and use on my Tengai. Any available? Would like to be good shape, no cracks or breaks. Thanks. This list has been a great source for this new KLRer.
