I had a low speed flat the other week and it kinda got me to worrying about it happening at highway speed. I'm thinking about putting tire slime in both tubes, but the bottle says Slime is not for high speed applications. Is anyone running this stuff at speed, and/ or anyone heard of problems doing this? I found a screw in my tubed front tire once. Tire seemed to hold pressure but as a precautionary measure I put some slime in. Got bike up to 70 mph with that tube. No trouble. Only problem was some spare slime blew out the valve every time I checked it. -Paul

I zip around with the throttle pinned WFO on the freeway. I have 4oz in the front and 8oz in the back. No problems yet... RM

That little spitwad of Slime can get caught and prevent your valve- core from sealing. Rotate your valve-stems to 5 o'clock or 7 o'clock before checking air pressure. RM

James , I run slime but never do i ride over 115MPH, Dam thing shacks to bad after 115. I have heard there is some new stuff on the market better than Slime, I myself will have to see it to beleave it. I'm not sure what they mean by "high Speed". I've been over "The Ton" several times on my Transalp with no problems whatsoever. I guess it depends on how fast you intend to go. I seriously doubt a KLR will go fast enough to cause a problem. Chances are their law department thought it would be an appropriate disclaimer. I won't ride without it flats can be REALLY dangerous. James, The Slime bottle says it should not be used for sustained running above 75mph.
