the basics

Post by wtnato » Thu Apr 11, 2002 5:36 pm

Howdy, I just bought my first motorcycle; 2002 KLR650 of course. As I get more riding in I can't believe I made it 29 years without a bike. Problem is, I'm green, green, green when it comes to the basics of motorcycle maintenance. I live off of a dirt road, so the thumper gets way dirty way fast. As far as maintaining the chain, do I need to de-grease it then re-lube it or can I simply apply lube in a liberal fashon when needed. Feel free to let me know of any other basic tenants of routine maintenance that I should be able to do on my own. Thanks-

I'm at a loss, I have no idea where this "bolt" is, which cover it sits behind, or how to get to it. Ryan
