With all the talk of the tension lever problems, I decided to have a
look at mine. I popped of the mag cover. I backed off the
adjustment bolt, and the "bracket" that this bolt passes through did
not move. I gave it a poke with a screwdriver- it was sort
of "floppy", i.e.- I could move it front to back a total of .200
inches. Is this an indication of a problem? I assume that this
setup is attached to a spring and when the bolt is backed off, the
spring moves the fitting. I did not run the bike prior to doing this
(temps were about 50 degrees F). The bike has 16,000 km and the bolt
was adjusted 3 times.
My 1 year of warranty is up this weekend, so I want to know if this
is a problem!
Thanks!
Darren

balancer tensioner adjustment help
YES! i would definatly wanna find out if somethings
up. call dealer and tell them you did adjustment per
manual and had a peak a boo and its dosent look right.
If it did pop the important thing is being able to
find the broken peice.
If you fix it yourseld (if its broken) it donsent cost
much as long as you have the tools. and a couple
hours.
