parts diagrams with prices?

Guys, I want to preface this by saying that I am not mentally impaired; maybe only guilty of wishful thinking. My 95 KLX650 does something wierd. I turn on the key and the headlight does NOT illumine. If I hit the starter (whether I start her or just let her turn over a little), the headlight illuminates. Though I know the answer, I've got to ask. She's done this ever since I've had her. Is this a 'feature' or do I have a short? Thanks, Jeff
