Does anyone think there is a chance of walking (well riding) out of a
dealership paying $5000 out the door for a 2002 klr650??? The local
shop has one tagged for 5800 out the door, thats tax license set up
and he said he'd throw in a set of saddlebags for it, do you think
there is a chance of getting 800 bucks knocked off of a price??? I
did'nt ask this guy because it is a small shop and I figured he would
just laugh at me.

Hey, it's just like going out to eat. If you don't put in your
order, you don't get served. Kind of like chasin chicks that way.
Scrunch up your courage and just say it: "I'll give you 5 big ones
out the door for that bike...if he hesitates too long, then
say, "well, I don't really need a motorcycle anyway, I am going to
have to think about it. I'll get back to you later".
You just never know until you ask.

Around here, (northern Nevada) the best I could do was $5300 OTD up to about
$6000. They are starting at a base price of $5199 then adding to it.
I found some new 2001s back east. By the time you figure shipping and state
taxes it was not much of a bargin. I have one on order at the $5300 OTD
price. I saved about $200 by not getting the first one I saw.
Doesn't hurt to ask. Worse they can say is no.

Here in the Houston Texas area you can get them out the door from
$4700 to $4900. Keep that in mind.

I got my 2002 for $4,825 plus license and title. Came to $4,901 out the
door. We don't have a sales tax in Oregon.

Kawasaki says the base price is $4999. You need another dealer.

Yeah,
When I questioned the $5199 price the dealer told me "that's what I charge
for them". He's also the one that told me about $6000 OTD. I left.
There are 3 dealers within 120 miles. The $5300 OTD was the best price.
Figures it is the farthest one away.
