Dunno - but more importantly, what happens if you get a flat? Think
I'd be wearing a cup or something...

Hi Gang
While so many are spending time indoors until warmer temps return, let's
build a great duel sport bike. Of course the foundation is the KLR 650.
Since I live in central North Carolina, and am only a few miles from the
Uwharrie Mountains/forrest I have hundreds of miles of dirt roads,
paths, trails to ride.
Secondly, I am prepping for a trip though Mexico, Central and South
America in two or three years.
Money is limited so probably will start with a used bike, even though a
new bike is reasonable. (local dealer has a new bike and 4500 would buy
it).
Not looking to trick the bike out in terms of unnecessary items, but
want to build a good comfortable bike capable of taking me to SA and
back.
Have not read during the short time I have been on the list of anyone
doing alternater upgrades, this might be a possibility???
Probably would do some local commuting, although the Wing would probably
be the first choice.
I am starting to seriously look for a bike if anyone knows of a good
used 650. Also I have a 2001 Honda Reflex scooter for sale. Sold new
for 5k out the door, 12k on the odometer and it is the only scooter to
finish the Ironbutt twice in the same event.
Thanks for your suggestions
