I, too have been drooling over these two animals. Their prices are good and I've been told that with just a smidgen of work that they razor. The Suzuki is more of a concern in really hot climates due to its air/oil cooling plus the way its ridden. Cruising, you are probably OK. Get down on the knees a lot, and the Bandits motor has just got to give out sooner than the Kawi's. The Kawasaki looks like a play bike to me. It just calls out to the "Bad Boy" in me. This puppy is for going out and leaving long black streaks on the road going through the corners. Just kidding, that behavior is for the track. But, it does call out to me. I've been struggling for at least six months to make a selection. Now that I'm working on the KLR for my road trip the "jonesing" sort of went away for now. I hope seriously that they don't stop production of the ZRX. Your mail just brought that back to the front of my mind. Now, I gotta go work on the KLR to get it out of my head. Jim Texas Thumpin >> Don't fight it Jim, the prices are great...and either one of these will bring alot of street smiles & a healthy power trip. If you've considered the big Bandit, reliability is the last thing you'll need to worry about. It's basically an old GSXR mill..age old..bulletproof..loads of available after-market stuff available too. I had to quit the Bandit list...100/200 posts/day. They're kinda like us, except they talk street only, and there's like a nitrous subgroup. Nobody was talking about known problems, just bs'ing and mods talk. For example, I learned that 235hp is the best that you can expect from a stock Bandit1200 with nitrous, before having to beef up the motor. The other thing was that the headlight lamps burn out every once in a while and it's good to carry a spare. Both of which are cool to know, but the only mod I've found a need for is a Givi rack for a tailbox....and maybe some tires soon. SideNote: Recently tried out some Joe Rocket Ballistic 2.0's. Best DS glove I've tried to date. All best Scott A14 "thunderdog" Sorrento, Fl

I have done a liitle research on the ZRX1200 and the 2001/2002 Bandit 1200S. The Bandit is stone reliable and the fairing gets top marks. The Bandit makes 70ft/lb at 4000 to 7500. The ZRX generates 72ft/lb at 4000 peaking at 79 and 76 at 7500. The ZXR is rated at 112hp with the Badit at 101hp.In Canada the MSRP for the Bandit is $10,500 and the ZRX around $11,500. Both bik eare great fun but the Bandit is the better deal. Gerry Exmann

David, I agree, even bought the 16 tooth from Fred several months ago. Went to put it on only to find out that there is not enough clearance. There are 3 bolts around the counter shaft sprocket and the chain almost rubs with the stock sprocket. Marshall in Slidell, La 95 KLXC3 "Blackhorse" (in honor of those who served)
