I never could find a windshield I was happy with. On any bike, so it's not the KLR's fault. Since it's raining today, I started rummaging in the garage and came across a National Cycle Plexifairing II used on a cruiser I once owned. Off came the stock fairing, and with a little leather strapping to pad the cross-member, on went the NC. It looks funky, and it only works ok. I'm 6'4", and I've got short legs (32" inseam). I still get turbulence around the helmet, but by leaning forward slightly I don't get any turbulence. All I hear is intake and exhaust! Ah, well... where's that Givi screen I had...? http://photos.yahoo.com/mmytacist look in the National Cycle folder. -Ben

Is easy enough to remember if you know the why. Connect positive first so if your wrench (or you) touches the chassis it doesn't short, conduct, or spark. Then connect the ground, where if the wrench momentarily touches ground then "what the heck, its already at ground potential." On removal disconnect ground first for the same reason. -- David Kelly N4HHE, dkelly@... ===================================================================== The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system.
