If you haven't already tried it, get the Fog City Fog Shield. I've had one on
each of my face shields. One of them just gave up the ghost, but it was over
ten years old. I'm not kidding. I'll be picking up a couple more soon. They
do what they say they will do, which can sometimes be hard to find these days.

For those of you with Nolan N100 helmets, ever wonder what those two
pegs are on either end of the face shield? They are for the snap in
anti-fog shield. I have one in mine and it works great.

Jim,
I had one of these on my Shoei 800 and the glue fell apart the first time I hit it with some soap and water to clean it up. Then the fog city had lots of gaps at the seams and never stuck well again. I was trying to wash the front of the shield at the time, but got a bit spirited with the cleaning I think. I may try another one but I got to be able to clean the thing. I know you have the biggest bugs smashing the faceshields in Texas at night, does yours take a cleaning and stay put?

I thought the Fog City was supposed to go on the inside of the shield?

Right, that is where I put the thing. In my thorough washing, (brought about by my years of being a dishwasher in a deli), I cleaned the pot on both sides. Did I get a lucky fog thing or can you not touch them with soap and water?

In my experience, car wax is the best thing to clean plastic optics.

I found that the Fog City (maybe any double shield) impeded my vision
due to the double reflection off the 2 layers. It did work well to
prevent fog, but the rest of the time it decreased my ability to see.

How about using what the boys from Maui use on their snorkle mask..baby shampoo that contains glycerin? Not sure how you would apply it but may be worth a look. Maybe a mist bottle with some water and some shampoo and then wipe off like a wax. Worked great on the water masks. Something about the glycerin. There was also a plant that grew there that the guys were wiping on their masks that worked.. May need a road trip on this one!!

Normally we just spit in the mask or use SeaDrops.
For the handy, you can run a few defroster wires around your shield and plug
them into your heated vest. Due to global warming, we won't have fogging
problems for long.

If you add a little oil to the gas you will actually LEAN IT OUT!!! (You
now have more oil and LESS gas entering the crankcase!)
Add in cold weather and DENSER air and you're looking for trouble.
You should be just fine with your standard jetting. Watch out for carb
icing. (Check for carb icing if it stops running and have a plan to thaw it
out.)
Carry spare plugs and have a full tank. Keep in mind that if you're
stranded and are hot and sweaty, it's easy to become cold and icy and DIE if
you don't have a back-up plan.
