Hello Folks,
Recently I have bought a KLR 650-2000. This is my first KAWASAKI motorcycle (I used to have a HONDA XR600L before).
Every thing seems OK with my KLR, except for its excessive vibration. By that I mean if my thighs touch the gas tank, or while ridding in the back, holding the bar; the vibration makes ones legs and hands feel numb (I didn't have this experience with XR600L though). I was wondering if this is some thing normal with KLRs; and if not what is the remedy?
Thanks,
Sam.

Personally, I don't think my A14 vibrates. To me it's a smooooothy. But then
again, I also ride an KTM LC4......

It's a thumper, so some vibration is normal. Check your motor mount bolts.
If they are loose it'll shake the bike into its parts....the sum of which is
considerably less than the sum of the whole, BTW. Trust me.

Sam,
Loosening and re-torquing all the engine mount bolts yielded the most signigicant vibration reduction on my 1998 KLR650 out of all the things I tried. Aluminum Renthal Desert Bend handlebars, #8 lead birdshot in the handlebars, and Pro Grip gel grips all helped, but not nearly so much as torquing the mount bolts.
